Description
A spanner wrench is used to tighten and loosing retaining rings. Lenses and shutters use retaining rings in their construction, but there are many other pieces of equipment that can take advantage of our spanner wrench. Our design was created for shop use at S.K. Grimes. After years of proven reliability they were put into production for commercial sale. We stock both a Flat Tip and Round Tip version.
The flat tips are slightly thicker than 1mm (but less than 1.5mm). They are about 3mm wide. They can be thinned, narrowed or sharpened with an ordinary file or grinder. Although less frequently used in optical assembly, the round tipped version is frequently asked for. The round tips are pencil like in size and taper smoothly. They are about 1.5mm in diameter at the tip Both wrenches are machined from tool steel and feature a black oxide finish. The tips can be reversed to interior or exterior applications. |
